IMPORTANT MESSAGES FROM THE FAIR HAVEN OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT as of APRIL 17, 2020

April 20, 2020

Dear Fair Haven Residents,

As of this date, we have seventeen (17) confirmed cases within the Borough. This remains a significantly appropriate number given the amount of current cases throughout Monmouth County.  Fortunately, there is a light at the end of the tunnel which is becoming increasingly brighter.  Monmouth County’s numbers have seen a positive and strong improvement and we are confident that these numbers will continue to improve.

We have been very fortunate to be able to keep our parks open in order for everyone to get some necessary fresh air and exercise.  That being said, we want to thank our residents for continuing to exercise appropriate social distancing, even in our parks and outdoors throughout town.   The primary reason that our numbers are significantly lower than many towns is because of your efforts to minimize unnecessary contact with those outside of your home.  Please continue this discipline and stay apart so that we can all get back together soon.

We thank you for continuing to support our local businesses and for wearing appropriate facial coverings while doing so.  With this in mind, please help us by properly disposing of your used PPE after use.  This is very important now more than ever. Please be patient and courteous with essential employees whom you encounter while frequenting our businesses.  These folks are our friends and neighbors and are making great personal sacrifice while providing necessary services to our town.

The Police Department, Office of Emergency Management and our volunteer emergency service personnel are continuing to provide a safe and secure environment for our town and we thank you for all of your support and cooperation during this challenging time.  We look forward to a time in the near future when we can all celebrate together as a community because we sacrificed and worked well as a team during an inconvenient time in our past.

Chief Joseph P. McGovern
Fair Haven Police Dept. /OEM Coordinator
