A Message from Mayor Lucarelli

July 10, 2020

As this weekend approaches, please heed the warning from Fair Haven’s OEM regarding the Tropical Storm Fay.  All residents should take precautions, such as securing outdoor items and reporting any power outages to JCP&L.  Please remain safe and call 911 immediately if you see any down or sparking wires.  Here are some updates for this week:

  • Dock – Please keep the Fair Haven Dock clean for all to enjoy.
  • Navesink River update from Brian Rice, Environmental Commission Vice Chair:
    • We all need to do our part to continue to keep the Navesink River clean;
    • Please clean up after your pets – their feces goes right to the storm drains and then to the river when it rains;
    • Do NOT swim 24 hours after a rain storm.
  • Contact Sports – opened this week as well as the Basketball Courts.

A new phrase has entered our lexicon Respiratory Etiquette. The elements of this etiquette have expanded from covering a cough or sneeze to include social distancing and wearing of masks any time you encounter another individual that is not a part of your family/immediate social circle.  Governor Murphy signed Executive Order 163 requiring individuals to wear masks in outdoor public spaces when social distance guidelines cannot be followed.  Please be mindful of the Covid-19 guidelines to ensure everyone’s health and safety.

Please stay safe this week, and as always, you can find additional information on the Borough’s website or feel free to email/call me.

Be Well, Be Safe.
