Message from the Office of Emergency Management

Dear Fair Haven Residents,

As of this date, we have four (4) active confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the borough.  Over the past fifteen weeks we have had a combined total of 29 confirmed cases.  We are very pleased with the progress and steady decrease in COVID-19 cases here in town.

It was an honor and privilege for members of our police department, fire department and first aid squads to participate in the graduation ceremonies for Knollwood and R.F.H. this past week.  It was quite moving to see so many residents come out to support our graduates as the parades passed through town.  We are happy to see so many folks out and about enjoying the warm weather while continuing to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Just as a reminder, while our parks are open, the playground equipment is still off limits pending further guidance from executive orders.

With the increase of outdoor activities, comes an increase in pedestrian and vehicular traffic on our roadways and walking areas. As our police department receives complaints of speeding and erratic driving we are placing our sign boards on various streets throughout town where we will also be strictly enforcing traffic laws.  Please be cognizant of speed limits and pedestrian as your travel around town.

The Police Department, and Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor the evolving situation and will provide updates as they become available. This will be our last weekly update for now, since the number of cases has continued to steadily decline and remains at a comfortably low number. We hope that everyone will continue to stay safe, be well and have a great summer.

Chief Joseph P. McGovern, Fair Haven Police Dept./OEM
