Remembering William "Bill" Leonard

On behalf of the Fair Haven community, Mayor Ben Lucarelli would like to extend condolences to the Leonard family, on the passing of former Mayor William “Bill” Leonard.

Mr. Leonard had a long history of service to the Borough of Fair Haven. He began his volunteer career with the Fair Haven Volunteer Fire Company #1 in 1961. He also served this community through his time in public office. He was a Borough Councilman from March 24, 1997 until December 31, 1998, before being elected to a full term as Mayor, where he served from January 1, 1999, until December 31, 2002. Additionally, he served as a Commissioner to the Two Rivers Water Reclamation Authority, from April 1995 until June 2018, where he held leadership roles as Chairman and Vice Chairman for a total of 21 years.
