WINTER STORM UPDATE

WINTER STORM UPDATE

Dear Fair Haven Residents,

As you know, Winter Storm Harold left 35,000 homes without power in New Jersey, with Monmouth County having the highest percentage of outages.  Mayor Lucarelli and I have been in regular communication with both JCP&L and Verizon since early Christmas morning.  More importantly, Chief McGovern has been coordinating with their crews on the ground. Fair Haven initially had nearly 900 homes without power and at this point in time all  have been restored,  except for approximately 40 homes.

We will continue to work with both management and ground crews until all homes in town have power.  In the meantime, we have opened the Borough’s Community Center behind the Police Station as a warming and charging station. JCP&L is giving out free ice and water to any customer still without power at the Fair Haven Acme.  JCP&L did acknowledge that this storm hit at the worst possible time and being without power on Christmas weekend is very inconvenient for their customers.  While we can’t control the weather, Fair Haven officials will continue to advocate on behalf of our residents for ongoing and better storm response from JCP&L.

Thank you.

Theresa Casagrande, Borough Administrator.
