IMPORTANT MESSAGE from the Fair Haven OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

May 26, 2020

Dear Fair Haven Residents,

As of this date, we have four (4) active confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the Borough.  Over the past nine weeks we have had a combined total of 25 confirmed cases.  During that time, twenty-one (21) of our residents have recovered and are no longer symptomatic. Over the last few weeks across the country the numbers of cases have declined which is a very good sign of things to come.

With the Governor’s office opening up more and more activities, we all have to remember to use caution and abide by CDC guidelines to make sure that we keep the number of new cases decreasing every day.  As always, the residents and business owners of Fair Haven have been doing an amazing job of following the guidelines.

Today there is also some encouraging news coming out from the Governor’s office regarding graduations.  This is just another sign that we are on the other side of this crisis and if we all work together we can overcome this.

With Memorial Day just yesterday, it is unfortunate that we could not all gather together at Memorial Park to honor our fallen heroes. I would also like to thank all of our Veterans in town for all they sacrificed for us.  The Borough has created a virtual ceremony on line for you to view.  It can be found on the Borough’s web page.

The Police Department and Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor this situation and will provide updates as they become available. Stay safe, stay healthy and have a great week.

Chief Joseph P. McGovern, Fair Haven Police Dept./OEM
