Mayor's Message regarding the Coronavirus

Dear Fair Haven Residents:

On behalf of the Borough Council, I want to assure you that the Borough’s elected officials, professionals, employees, and volunteer first responders are working together, and with other government agencies, to make sure we do all we can to keep our residents safe, in light of the recent coronavirus outbreak.

As of today, we have taken the follow proactive actions:

  • Enhanced cleaning of all public Borough buildings.
  • Closing the Fair Haven Public Library, for at least the next few days.

  • Canceling of all Fair Haven public meetings, at least through 03/21/20. We will reevaluate pubic meetings for the week of 03/22/20, as more information becomes available.

  • Canceling of all optional Borough sponsored meetings and activities, at least through 03/31/20

At this point in time, Borough Hall remains open and fully staffed. However, in the interest of everyone’s health and well-being, I am asking Borough residents to please avoid coming into Borough Hall, whenever possible.  You can reach Borough Hall employees via phone, 732-747-0241 * Ext 219,  during regular business hours, or via their email address, as listed in the Borough Directory section of our website: www.fairhavennj.org .   Our staff will do their best to help you conduct all Borough related business, in as timely a manner as possible.

I want to assure this community that the Governing Body has complete confidence in our Borough Administrator, our Chief of Police/OEM Director, our dedicated employees, and our selfless volunteer first responders. Be assured that we will continue to make calm and informed decisions, on an ongoing basis, based on the best available information from all our collective resources.  We will also strive to keep our residents fully informed during this very challenging time.

Sincerely,

Mayor Ben Lucarelli
