Message from the Office of Emergency Management

June 9, 2020

Dear Fair Haven Residents,

As of this date, we have five (5) active confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the borough.  Over the past 13 weeks we have had a combined total of 27 confirmed cases.  The steady decrease in recent weeks has been a welcoming sign of encouragement and a beacon of hope that we will soon be getting back to a familiar sense of comfort and a traditional routine in the near future.

As the Governor’s guidelines have been evolving we are seeing some signs of hope with certain businesses being permitted to re-open with restrictions.  At the same time we are also seeing that some restrictions are remaining in place.  We apologize as this is very confusing and in many cases seems contradictory, however, we are confident that in the coming weeks, with growing positive progress with COVID-19 statistics, both here and outside of New Jersey, we will see more easing of restrictions making it possible for us all to enjoy our summer.

In the meantime, we want to once again thank you all for continuing to take appropriate precautions while abiding by the social distancing guidelines and staying safe while out and about.

We would like to thank you all so very much for your amazing patience, understanding and for your continued support of our Police, Fire and First Aid personnel as we navigate our way through this challenging experience together.

The Police Department, and Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor the evolving situation and will provide updates as they become available. Stay safe, be well and have a great week.

Chief Joseph P. McGovern, Fair Haven Police Dept./OEM
