REC-N-CREW CAMP - ASSISTANT HEAD COUNSELOR

Fair Haven Rec N Crew Summer Day Camp is seeking to hire an Asst. Head Counselor. This individual must have experience supervising children and be 18 years or older.

DATES: 5 weeks. June 29- July 31. Off July 3.

TIME: Camp runs 8:30am-11:30am Mon-Fri. With pre/post camp duties, Asst. Head Counselors typically work 20-25 hours/ week.

      Excellent counselor to camper ratio.

Roles:

• Assist Camp Director with camp site oversight
• Assist the Camp Director in providing a fun, safe and memorable camp experience
• Effectively communicate with the Camp Director and staff members throughout the camp day
• Effectively communicate with parents during camp hours
• Assist the Camp Director with sign in and sign out duties
• Assist the Camp Director with management and oversight of staff
• Ensure counselors are adhering to daily camp schedule
• Delegate responsibilities to staff members as directed
• Provide guidance and leadership to staff members
• Assist in the management of camp equipment
• Assist in execution of various activities for the campers. Games, crafts, etc.
• Attend field trips ( 1 per week). Ability to stay at camp for additional time, as needed, on trip days. Some trips get back after 12pm ( usually no more than an hour)
• Effectively communicate with trip vendors.
• Assist the Camp Director with organization of Pizza and Ice Cream Days
• Attend camp training date(s)

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: Up to $18.00 per hour Schedule:

• 4 hour shift ( 8am-12pm)
• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift Experience:
• Childcare: 3+ years (Preferred) License/Certification:
• First Aid Certification (Preferred)
• CPR Certification (Preferred) Work Location: In person
