1. 2026 SPRING RESIDENT TREE BUYING PROGRAM
The Green Team of Fair Haven is a community-based organization with a mission to inspire, educate, and lead sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices and solutions for our community. The Green Team is responsible for coordinating efforts to pursue and maintain certification of our Borough through the Sustainable Jersey Municipal Certification program, and works towards ensuring a clean environment and healthy place to live for the people of Fair Haven, today and in the future.
Fair Haven received the Bronze Level Certification of Sustainable New Jersey in 2018 and Silver Status in 2022 and 2025.
Fair Haven was selected to receive the annual Collaboration Award for the collaborations between governing body members, Green Team, Creative Team, the Historic Association of Fair Haven, and the FH Business Association in holding the Estuary events in 2024. Both the Walk and the Art Show sound like they were wonderful events to celebrate the rich history and cultural highlights of the Borough. The award recognizes green teams that have advanced sustainability by building strong partnerships which will hopefully last in the coming years.
The Green Team was formally established by the Mayor and Borough Council in Summer of 2020 and consists of volunteers who meet monthly, with a focus of completing actions required for Sustainable Jersey certification, as well as planning other volunteer initiatives to promote environmentally sustainable practices for our local community.
